The Premier League 2024 / 2025 kicked off officially at Old Trafford in a game which saw Man united take on Fulham on Friday night at 10pm EAT.
It was a game with several debutants, with Erik ten Hag (coach to Man utd) giving a start to the Moroccan Mazraoui at right back and Emile Smith Rowe making his first competitive appearance for Fulham after his emotional move from Arsenal.
It was also interesting to see the young Manchester United winger Amad Diallo get a start. He looked decent, and I think he could go on to become a good player.
In the end, the day belonged to Joshua Zirkzee, the new Manchester United striker. He scored at the 87th minute. This is good for the young forward, as there is no better feeling than scoring your first goal in front of the home fans in your first league start for Manchester United in the Premier League.
It makes one wonder, how will the united forward line look like once Rasmus Hojlund recovers from injury?
Lastly, as a footballing spectacle, I was quite disappointed as I found it a very boring game.
